Brittany Wetzel began her dancing career at age 4 at Estelle and Alfonso’s dance studio in Poughkeepsie, New York. There began her training in ballet, jazz, and tap until relocating to Raleigh, North Carolina at age 10. In Raleigh Brittany attended what is now CC & Company Dance Complex and became well rounded in ballet, jazz, modern, lyrical, hip hop, and contemporary. There she was accepted into their competition team which traveled around the nation under nationally recognized choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Tabitha and Napoleon, Dee Caspery, Nick Bass, Mandy Moore, Jason Parsons, and Lauren Adams.
After graduating high school Brittany attended Appalachian State University where she received her Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Dance. There she had the opportunity to perform with the North Carolina Dance Alliance under the choreography of Laura Valentine, and choreograph two pieces in the springs shows of 2008 and 2009.
Since graduating college Brittany has continued to dance with the Defero Dance Collective, and choreographer Courtney Greer both located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Last summer she had the opportunity to tour the southeast with Intimation Dance Company under the choreography and direction of Laura Valentine. Brittany is excited to relocate to Wilmington, North Carolina to begin teaching jazz, ballet, and contemporary at GAFA Studios, as well as continuing to dance for The Story Collective.
Brittany will be teaching Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary and Modern.
